Victoria + Albert

THE BATH AS CENTREPIECE

Victoria + Albert makes freestanding baths from volcanic limestone — a British house devoted, since 1996, to a single idea done exceptionally well.

A material developed for the purpose

Victoria + Albert is a British brand with a worldwide reputation for beautiful freestanding baths and basins. Formed in 1996 out of a passion for bathing, the company was not content to work in cast iron or acrylic — so it developed its own material. Every bath and basin is made from ENGLISHCAST®, a blend of Volcanic Limestone™ and high-performance resins, cast in a single piece and individually hand-finished by craftsmen. It is the ultimate statement in quality and style, built on one conviction: that the bath deserves to be the centrepiece of the room.

Volcanic limestone, cast and hand-finished

Volcanic Limestone™ is a naturally white rock formed where magma acts on soft limestone under immense heat and pressure — the source of both the material’s strength and its pure colour. Cast as one piece, it gives an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio: thinner walls, lighter baths, easier installation, and forms that acrylic and cast iron cannot achieve. The surface is warm to the touch, sustains water heat, is non-porous and easy to clean, and can be personalised across a spectrum of over 200 RAL colours in gloss or matt, each finish multi-layered and hand-polished for depth.

A lifetime investment, quite literally

A Victoria + Albert bath is an object to build a bathroom around — sculptural, warm underfoot and warm to the water, and made to last. The material does not radiate heat like cast iron or flex like acrylic; internal scratches simply polish out because it is solid throughout. Every classic white model carries a 25-year consumer guarantee, and the traditional and modern collections between them answer almost any space, large or small. It is, in the brand’s own terms, an investment that will last a lifetime — and a piece that reflects the person who chose it.
